Why we started Rich Vitality
Our founder, Richard Ingber, created our organic Super Food Protein Blend back in 2013. He launched Rich Vitality online and in local health food stores around Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Michigan area. This all started when Richard who, as a financial adviser and restaurateur, spending much of his time traveling for work and often in a hurry to get out the door in the morning, was just sick and tired of how difficult it has become to find nutritious food that wasn’t full of chemicals, fake sugars, GMO’s etc. He had been researching the benefits of what are known to be “superfoods”; natural foods that are the most nutrient-dense and health-supporting foods in the world. He began filling his cupboard with quart mason jars of these special organic powders and making smoothies each morning. Having the restaurant background, he created a very special and delicious recipe of seven organic ingredients.
First was starting with plant-protein of brown rice and hemp, and enhancing the benefits and flavor by adding cacao, goji, maca and barley grass juice powder (a concentrated form of barley grass), and sweetening it with organic coconut sugar. Each ingredient was specifically chosen for it’s complimentary health benefits. When added to a smoothie of coconut, almond, hemp, flax or cashew milk, and a good dash of cinnamon, half a banana and a handful of blueberries, he soon found that he had more energy, mental clarity, a more positive attitude, and general feeling of well-being. Even more importantly, he wasn’t hungry until beyond his normal lunchtime, and didn’t seem to require as much food. This also made it easy to avoid searching for “which food will hurt me the least” while out on the road each day. I’m sure many people can relate with that very common dilemma. Plus this blend tasted far better and less gritty than other protein powders he’d tried, and he soon discovered that everyone who tasted it felt the same way! Richard also noticed that other protein powders had so many ingredients that there couldn’t be much of anything in addition to the protein. He also knew that most of what’s being sold on the shelves is typically dairy or soy, and contained chemicals and “flavors” and no super-foods. His blend combined plant-protein and super-foods that actually tasted great without additives; just seven organic foods that make you feel the difference! In addition, when he was in a hurry, he could just “shake and go” by adding 4 tablespoons of his blend with almond milk and cinnamon in a shaker cup and was satisfied until lunch without getting tired.
The next move was to source the ingredients from a reputable company that had direct ties to small family organic farms throughout the world. These ingredients are cultivated by the indigenous people, so Richard can provide premium quality organic ingredients to all of his products. Rich Vitality was born!
